The Man Behind the Scholarship

About Pop-Pop Heath

A life defined by faith, family, and putting others first.

Some people leave a mark on the world through grand gestures. Pop-Pop Heath left his through something far more lasting: the way he treated every single person he met. He was a man of deep faith, unshakeable character, and a generosity that never asked for anything in return.

He was the kind of man who showed up. For his family, for his neighbors, for his community. He believed that a life well lived was one spent in service to others, and he modeled that belief every day, not in words, but in action.

A Family Tradition

Heath's Service Station

Three Generations of Service in Lambertville, NJ

Pop-Pop Heath was the second generation of Heath's Service Station in Lambertville, New Jersey, a family institution that has been a cornerstone of the community for decades. More than just a place to fill a tank, the station was a gathering point, a trusted neighbor, a handshake and a smile when you needed one.

He took the reins from his father and ran the station with the same integrity and care that had made it a community fixture. His son, Bob Heath Jr., now carries on that tradition as the third-generation owner, keeping alive not just a business, but a way of being in the world that Pop-Pop Heath embodied.

The station is more than a legacy. It is proof that the values Pop-Pop Heath lived by, hard work, honesty, service, and community, can be passed from one generation to the next. That same spirit is what this scholarship seeks to honor and carry forward.

His Foundation

A Life Guided by Faith

At the center of everything Pop-Pop Heath did was his faith. It was not something he wore on his sleeve or announced to the room. It was something he lived quietly, consistently, and completely. His faith shaped how he treated people, how he approached hardship, and how he found joy in the ordinary.

He never put himself first. He never kept score. He gave freely, forgave readily, and showed up for others without hesitation. Those who knew him will tell you that being around him made you want to be better, not because he asked it of you, but because he showed you it was possible.

"He never asked what others could do for him. He only asked what he could do for others."
